HOW TO USE THAT TAX REBATE!

If you are getting a tax rebate, don't use it to buy more stuff. Invest in your future by doing one of the following:

1. If you don't have credit card debt, stash the money in your emergency fund account or invest it in a retirement account.

2. If you have credit card debt, pay down the debt. This could earn the average credit card holder about 18%...much more than you would earn in a savings account. For some, who have had late payments and defaulted to higher interest rates, the savings could be 30% or more.
